1- Afghanistan
This country tops the list of the most dangerous destinations in the world in 2023, due to the re-establishment of the Taliban regime in 2021, and the consequent wave of attacks and terrorism.
2- Iraq
This Middle Eastern country is second on the list, which is divided by color according to the level of danger. Thus, the 10 countries in this classification belong to the red group, since they are considered “extreme risk”. Reasons for this include instability, conflicts with militias and terrorist attacks.
3- Libya
This North African state, at war since 2011 after anti-government protests, is another of the countries painted in red on the International map.
4- Mali
This is another country at extreme risk due to terrorist groups and criminal gangs operating there. Furthermore, kidnappings are frequent.
5- Central African Republic
The Central African Republic is in fifth place in the ranking due to the civil war in which it is immersed. It has nothing to do with the “yellow” states on the list, such as the United States, South Africa or even Spain, whose “moderate risk” is due to specific conflicts.
6- Syria
The map continues with Syria, where the actions of armed militias and terrorist acts have not ceased since the war started in this Middle Eastern enclave, which was once one of the most popular tourist destinations in the region. Add to that the recent earthquake that devastated the country.
7- Somalia
The political, economic and social fragility of this African country makes it one of the most insecure in the world.
8- South Sudan
This East African state ranks eighth in the top 10 most unsafe in the world. Among the main reasons is the war it suffered, which left a devastated territory with great hunger. Ethnic conflicts and extreme violence are constant in this country.
